I was very happy with how my cheap garden bench design turned out: robust and sturdy but with a more sleek appearance.
A friend just bought a house so I decided to make another one as a house warming gift. However I’d feel bad about giving something away that is made of construction lumber, so this one I made from a piece of premium, furniture grade pine.
Since the pine board had a height of 40mm I hade to make the main seat stretchers a bit narrower, and created 7 of them instead of 5. Plus a more “sophisticated” edge profile on the sides.
Very happy with how it turned out. Because of the higher quality wood, it has a proper “furniture glow” to it, as opposed to “screwed together pieces of wood”
