Can you build nice outdoor furniture from construction lumber? Most examples online says otherwise, but I decided to give it a shot. For less than $20 I bought spruce lumber in with dimensions 45x45mm and 25x48mm and got to work.
I spent a fair amount of time trying to calculate the angles and lengths of the leg pieces in order to achieve the right seating height. After dusting off some long gone trigonometry knowledge, the rest of the build was very straight forward.
To finish it, I used a single coat of Selder’s Linseed Oil. As long as it doesn’t rot or break, I don’t mind if it’ll look a bit worn.
