This summer I wanted to create a garden chair for our daughter, and I decided to copy a foldable Swedish classic. I didn’t have any drawings, so I had to come up with all the measurements freehand and by eyeballing pictures of the Internet. The chair posed some fun challenges with arced legs and seating area. I made this first one out of construction lumber, since I needed lots of extra material to experiment with, and I didn’t know how it’d turn out. However, in the end I think it turned out quite well, and the next one will be way easier
Note to self: leave margin for paint thickness! With two coats of paint, it became a bit too tight to operate smoothly
