Due to some recent leakage we’re currently having the roof of our house replaced. While inspecting some areas one the sc. Frontispiece I noticed that there seemed to be a piece missing at the ridge of the roof. There were existing cutouts for some form of decorative piece so I decided to try and re-create it in a similar style, drawing inspiration from some neighboring houses with similar characteristics (~125 years old).
The piece was made using regular 2x4s (45x95mm) construction lumber, milled down to 40x80mm to fit the original cutouts, and then put together using lap joints. I used my edge router to create a partial 15mm chamfer.
