This plate rack I designed by taking inspiration from both old and new models of the Internet. Clean straight lines for the most part, but then with some rounded profiles to finish the edges on the sides, plus a small profile on the plate support stretchers to spice it up a little.
I made this from knot-free pine bought at my local home center. It’s very soft, light and isn’t of the best quality, but is ok for this application.
Most of the build was pretty straight forward, with template routing for the sides and a consistent 1mm round over for all the edges. As finish, I used Rubio Monocoat, Cotton White, to retain a fresh, crispy pine look.
